StreetGames Youth Residential – Brathay 2015 Expression of Interest Open

StreetGames are please to announce that the expression of interest for our annual StreetGames Young Volunteer residential at Brathay Trust, Lake Windermere is now open.

On the 26th-28th October we will be running our Youth Residential at Brathay.

Over the 3 days young people will have the opportunity to try out a wide range of activities including water based, high challenges and team building activities; as well as taking part in StreetGames young advisor led social activities.

Things you need to know:

  • The residential last for 3 days and 2 nights
  • Accommodation will in dorms, and attendees may have to share with young people from other StreetGames projects. Project leaders will be asked to share twin rooms with project leaders from other projects  - males and females will be in separate accommodation
  •  Age range: 14-25
  • Young people will be spilt up and put into different teams and need to be prepared to make new friends!
  • Project leaders may be asked to make up their own team and will have time dedicated to training and opportunities to observe your young people.
  • Maximum 4 young people from 1 project – if you would like to bring more please state a total number and any extras will be placed on a reserve list and you will be contacted once the EOI has closed. There must be a ratio of 1 project lead for every 4 participants.
  • Travel assistance is available on a need assessment basis
  • Places allocated on a first-come-first-served basis

We are also seeking volunteers from across the StreetGames Network to work as Young Advisors at the residential. The role entails supporting StreetGames and Brathay staff in delivering a successful residential for young people from the StreetGames network. Young Advisors will be delivering a variety of sports activities to young people aged 14-25 years old, and will also support StreetGames staff members in the general running of the residential. We encourage all project leads to forward this application to volunteers who would enjoy and benefit from this experience.

You will be provided with a full information pack for the week in advance of the residential.
